By the Humming Home Services team, an NDIS registered home cleaning and gardening provider in South East Queensland · Published 18 October 2026
Finding good NDIS cleaners should not feel like another job on your list. Whether you are after NDIS cleaners in Brisbane, regular home cleaning in Toowoomba, or NDIS cleaning on the Sunshine Coast, the same few things decide whether the service works for you: the right registration, the same friendly faces, a routine that fits your day, and clear invoicing for your plan.
This guide explains what NDIS cleaning services can include, how funding usually works, what to ask before you book, and how Humming Home Services supports participants, families and Support Coordinators across South East Queensland.
Quick answer: NDIS cleaning is usually funded from your Core Supports budget (Assistance with Daily Life) when your disability makes household tasks hard or unsafe to do on your own. Look for a cleaning provider who understands NDIS plan management, uses workers with NDIS Worker Screening clearances, keeps the same cleaner where possible, and services your area. Humming Home Services is an NDIS registered provider covering Greater Brisbane, Toowoomba (including Gatton and Laidley) and the Sunshine Coast. Call 0478 534 064 or request a quote.

What NDIS cleaners actually do
NDIS cleaners are cleaning providers who deliver household tasks funded by a participant's NDIS plan, usually under Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life, and invoice the NDIA, a Plan Manager or the participant directly.
NDIS cleaning services cover the everyday household tasks that keep a home safe, hygienic and comfortable. A good NDIS cleaner does more than tick off a checklist. They learn how you like things done, respect your routines and sensory needs, and let you or your Support Coordinator know if something changes.
A typical regular clean can include:
- General housework: dusting, wiping benches and surfaces, vacuuming and mopping hard floors.
- Kitchen: stovetop degreasing, wiping appliance exteriors, sink and benchtop sanitising.
- Bathrooms and toilets: showers, baths, basins, mirrors and toilets cleaned and sanitised.
- Bedrooms and living areas: bed making, linen changes, tidying and rubbish removal.
- High-touch areas: door handles, light switches and the spots that matter most for your health.
See the full checklist on our house cleaning and NDIS cleaning services page. If your yard also needs help, our NDIS gardening and lawn mowing service can be booked alongside your cleaning.
How NDIS cleaning funding usually works
Cleaning is generally funded under Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life, through the household tasks support items (for example, House Cleaning and Other Household Activities, 01_020_0120_1_1). The NDIA sets price limits for these supports and reviews them each year, so always check the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits or ask your Plan Manager for the rate that applies to you.
Cleaning needs to be reasonable and necessary and connected to your disability. If you are unsure whether your plan covers it, our guide to NDIS household tasks eligibility walks through the common questions, and our Queensland guide to using Core Supports for home cleaning goes deeper.
| Plan type | Who can you use? | How invoicing works |
|---|---|---|
| Agency-managed (NDIA-managed) | NDIS registered providers only | Provider claims payment from the NDIA through the my NDIS provider portal (older plans use service bookings) |
| Plan-managed | Registered or unregistered providers | Provider invoices your Plan Manager, who pays from your plan |
| Self-managed | Registered or unregistered providers | You receive the invoice and claim from your plan |
Because Humming Home Services is an NDIS registered provider, we can work with all three plan types, including agency-managed participants who cannot use unregistered cleaners.
NDIS cleaners in Brisbane
Greater Brisbane has plenty of cleaning companies, but far fewer that understand NDIS service agreements, budgets and progress notes. When you compare NDIS cleaners in Brisbane, ask whether they cover your suburb on a regular schedule, not just “when available”. Travel time and reliability matter more than a slightly lower hourly figure.
Our Brisbane team supports participants across Greater Brisbane and Moreton Bay with weekly and fortnightly cleans, one-off deep cleans and flexible schedules that work around therapy, work and appointments. Read more in NDIS cleaning services in Brisbane: creating safer, healthier homes.
Home cleaning in Toowoomba, Gatton and Laidley
Searching for home cleaning in Toowoomba? We provide both private house cleaning and NDIS cleaning across Toowoomba and the Lockyer Valley, including Gatton and Laidley. Toowoomba homes have their own needs: dust and pollen in spring, damp and mould risk after wet weather, and colder winters when windows stay shut.
For many Toowoomba participants, the most important thing is seeing the same cleaner each visit. Our guide on how to find a consistent NDIS cleaner in Toowoomba explains what to ask about backup cover and routines. If you also need yard help, see choosing reliable NDIS cleaning, lawn mowing and garden maintenance in Toowoomba.
NDIS cleaning on the Sunshine Coast
Coastal humidity, sand and salt air mean Sunshine Coast homes often need extra attention in bathrooms, laundries and entryways. Good NDIS cleaning on the Sunshine Coast builds this into the routine, with regular mould-prone area checks and floor care, instead of waiting for a big clean-up.
We support Sunshine Coast participants, families and Support Coordinators with regular cleaning schedules and clear communication. If your plan includes outdoor maintenance, our NDIS gardening guide for Brisbane, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast covers how yard care is funded.

Frequently asked questions
Does the NDIS pay for cleaning?
Yes, in many cases. Cleaning is usually funded from Core Supports (Assistance with Daily Life) when your disability makes household tasks difficult or unsafe and the support is reasonable and necessary. Check your plan or ask your Support Coordinator or Plan Manager.
Do I need an NDIS registered cleaner?
Only if your plan is agency-managed. Plan-managed and self-managed participants can choose registered or unregistered providers. Humming Home Services is NDIS registered, so we can work with all three plan types.
Do you offer private home cleaning in Toowoomba as well as NDIS cleaning?
Yes. We clean for private homeowners as well as NDIS participants across Toowoomba, Gatton and Laidley, plus Greater Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
How much do NDIS cleaners cost?
NDIS cleaning rates are capped by the NDIA's price limits, which are updated each year. Your quote also depends on the size of your home, how often you need a clean and any specific tasks.
Can I have the same cleaner every time?
We aim to match you with a consistent cleaner and keep your routine the same, with a familiar backup when your regular cleaner is away.
Which areas do your NDIS cleaners cover?
Greater Brisbane and Moreton Bay, Toowoomba and the Lockyer Valley (including Gatton and Laidley), and the Sunshine Coast. More answers are on our FAQs page.
